Winton Capital appoints Sir David Walker as non-executive Chairman

Winton Capital has announced that Sir David Walker is to join the Group as non-executive Chairman with effect from 1 July 2015.

The move will enable Winton Founder, David Harding, who currently combines the roles of both Chairman and CEO to focus his energies on the CEO role exclusively.

Harding said, 'We are delighted that Sir David has agreed to take on this important role at a pivotal time for the Group. His experience and wisdom will be invaluable in supporting us as we progress our ambition to become a truly global institutional asset management group'.

Commenting on his decision to join Winton, Sir David said, 'Winton has established itself with a very strong reputation and track record under the visionary leadership of David Harding. I look forward to working with him and the management team as they embark on the next phase of Winton’s development'.
