Tottenham Hotspur intend to stay in Italy for an extra day, to allow them to get in a training session before the Capital One Cup final.
Tottenham Hotspur are planning to run a training session after their Europa League clash with Fiorentina in Italy, according to the London Evening Standard.
Spurs face a huge week as they prepare to take on Fiorentina in the second-leg of Europe's secondary competition only three days before they play Chelsea in the Capital One Cup final.
It is a tough schedule and Mauricio Pochettino has had to be creative to find a way to reduce the impact that it will have on the team.
As a result, the entire Tottenham squad, whether they will be involved against Fiorentina or not, will be flown out to Italy - where there will be a training session held on the Friday.
The side will then catch a flight back to England on Friday evening, when they will return to the country with their attentions fully focused on the Capital One Cup final.
It makes for a gruelling few days, but Pochettino obviously feels that having a session where they can solely concentrate on their match against Chelsea will be important.
Spurs have not won a major trophy since 2008 and they are naturally desperate to add to their trophy cabinet by beating Jose Mourinho's side.
Doing so could be tough, however. Chelsea have been one of the Premier League's standout teams this season and they have a full week away from competitive fixtures ahead of the League Cup final.
That could prove decisive as the game enters the latter stages, but Pochettino will be hoping that his preparations work to the desired effect and he will be able to celebrate lifting his first silverware in English football on Sunday.
