Jenkinson has been named in the paper’s European team of the week for his superb performance in the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
West Ham were very close to winning the match against Spurs, but Harry Kane popped up with his 24th goal of the season to deny Sam Allardyce’s side all three points.
Jenkinson made the move to the Hammers on loan last summer after Arsenal drafted in Mathieu Debuchy to replace Bacary Sagna who chose to link up with Manchester City.
His loan agreement with the Hammers expires at the end of this season and it will be interesting to see if the club tries to sign him on a permanent deal, with Sam Allardyce’s contract as manager also set to expire.
If Allardyce stays, he may push to try and keep Jenkinson at the club but if a new manager comes in he may have different ideas and plans for the right-back role at Upon Park.
