Former Sheffield Wednesday defender Andy Hinchcliffe has heaped praise on Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn.
Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe has paid tribute to the job Neil Redfearn has done at Leeds United on the Football League 72 Review on Sky Sports.
Redfearn has guided Leeds to five wins from their last six matches and Hinchcliffe believes that it is some achievement, considering the unrest around the club.
Redfearn has had to deal with off the field issues throughout his time at Elland Road and he has done brilliantly to have united the squad in the circumstances, the former Sheffield Wednesday defender believes.
"I think there's a trust between him and the players," Hinchcliffe said. "Consider the controversy around [Massimo] Cellino this season, Neil Redfearn has been the strong thread which has kept the club together.
"The players love playing for him and they're on a really strong run."
Leeds had looked to be in a relegation scrap, but their impressive recent run of results has lifted them up the Championship table.
The Whites are now in the top-half and 10 points clear of the drop-zone, meaning they look set for a comfortable finish to their season.
Leeds are still some way off the play-offs, but the distance they have put between themselves and the bottom three means they are unlikely to slip into danger again.
Redfearn, therefore, can start plotting for next season - where Leeds will be hoping to mount a sustained promotion push.
