The former Queens Park Rangers manager’s announcement that he is seeking a new club from the start of next season has got the bookmakers going.
The 67-year-old told Sky Sports this week that he was planning to get back into the game, once he has fully recuperated from his ongoing knee problems.
Redknapp left Loftus Road just after the close of the mid-season transfer window, claiming he was not up to managing the club on a full-time basis with his current ailment.
But with the ex-West Ham and Portsmouth manager due to go under the knife for the problem in the coming weeks, it would appear a return may be imminent.
"I’ll be looking to get back in next season," Redknapp told Sky Sports News HQ.
"The off-season comes and then I’ll be looking to work somewhere because I love it. I’ve got nothing else in my life really."
The comments have sparked speculation as to where Redknapp may end up next, with several bookmakers offering odds on a next club for the wheeler-dealer boss.
According to the website Bettingpro.com, one bookmaker is offering as short a price as 5/1 on Redknapp signing with a club in Qatar.
Newcastle, meanwhile, lead the way in terms of British clubs, with a price of 8/1 offered on the Magpies recruiting Redknapp from next term.
West Ham are 10/1, with rumours still abound that Sam Allardyce may leave the Boleyn Ground at the end of the season.
John Carver is the current manager of Newcastle, with the one-time Toon coach given the job until the conclusion of the present campaign.
He has so far guided the Magpies to just one Premier League win, however, with their most recent result being a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City, who found themselves 3-0 up after just 21 minutes.
