Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino could bring a number of players back into his team this week.

Four experienced members of the Tottenham Hotspur squad were missing last weekend for the game against West Ham United.

Captain Younes Kaboul, defender Vlad Chiriches, midfielder Etienne Capoue and striker Emmanuel Adebayor were not part of the match day squad. They had gone missing.

However, they could be needed in the Europa League this week, with Spurs facing a real fight to get the better of Fiorentina in the second leg of their game away in Italy.

The tie is currently balanced at 1-1, with the Serie A side holding the important away goal advantage.

It would seem like a match where Tottenham would go in with their best team. However, the missing four could all feature because of the fact the League Cup final against Chelsea takes place just a few days later.

Pochettino will more than likely want to keep his key players fresh for that game against the Blues, which could mean several changes to his starting line-up;

Chiriches could come in for Walker

Kaboul could come in for Vertonghen

Capoue could come in for Bentaleb or Dembele

Adebayor might get on the bench with Roberto Soldado starting up front

The risk for Spurs is that so many changes for such an important game against the Italian team could work against them.

Fiorentina have the players and the skill to really hurt Tottenham in this game and exploit any weakness or imbalance across Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

However, the boss may feel that a top four finish and a League Cup win is what the club should be aiming for and while it’s a gamble, he’ll shuffle his side accordingly to retain good chances in both of those competitions.
