Liverpool youngster Jerome Sinclair has explained to the club’s website how Anfield legend Robbie Fowler has been helping him.
Sinclair has been in great form for the Reds youth ranks, with 21 goals so far this season, and he puts a large part of his success down to the advice he’s been given.
“Robbie is a legend at this club so to get a few helpful tips from him,” said Sinclair.
“He has given me a few little tips on my first touch, and worked with me on different types of finishing. He is always there to help me in any way he can.”
Liverpool are one of the leading lights in terms of how they use and develop younger players.
There are several examples of players in the current squad who have been taken in and given a chance by Brendan Rodgers.
Jordon Ibe is one of the latest examples and there’s every reason for Sinclair to believe that he’ll get a chance before the end of the season.
What he has to do is continue playing well and keeping the pressure up on the senior coaches and give them the problem over whether to draft him into the first team ranks consistently.
He’s doing his job for the youth ranks, which is scoring a high volume of goals, and if Fowler can continue working with him to turn him into an even better player, Liverpool should reap the rewards over the next couple of seasons.
