The Germany international had three opportunities to score in his side’s 2-1 victory over Cagliari last night.
Lukas Podolski is getting the first-team football that he so craved at Arsenal during a loan spell at Inter, but the Germany international is seemingly struggling to show his best form for the Serie A side.
The 29-year-old started the Nerazzurri’s domestic clash with Cagliari last night, and although the Milan-based outfit prevailed 2-1, Podolski was guilty of being wasteful in front of goal.
The former Bayern Munich forward had three chances to hit the back of the net in the first half of the clash in Sardinia, but failed to convert.
Podolski has now not scored in eight games for Inter and is seemingly still adjusting to his new environment and team.
Despite not getting on the scoresheet on Monday night, Mancini came to the German’s defence in the aftermath of the result.
"Of the three in the first half, he usually gets at least one in. He’s unlucky at the moment, but it will pass.”
Mancini admitted recently that Podolski had not fully adapted to life at Inter and was not yet firing on all cylinders.
The Germany international also stated earlier this month that he would return to Arsenal at the end of the season but was unsure of where he would play his football next season.
