The Brazilian international has found opportunities hard to come by at the Camp Nou as boss Luis Enrique adopts a consistent first-team approach rather than rotating his squad on a weekly basis.
As a result, questions have been asked over the former Sevilla star’s future beyond this season and, despite the club undergoing a transfer embargo, an exit could be on the cards.
The report goes on to say that an offer in the region of £7 million would be enough to persuade the Catalans to do business, and it’s hardly a sum which would dent the Reds’ bank account.
It’s a deal which could prove sound business for the Reds, and Adriano would certainly add further quality to a squad which has to balance European football with a Premier League challenge.
While the Anfield outfit would most likely be on board for such a deal, can the same be said about the Barca supporters potentially losing a key member of a squad which has won so much silverware?
As the report hit the papers in Spain, we took a look at the reaction from a section of the Camp Nou supporters who voiced their opinion to Mundo Deportivo on the subject.
“We should sell him as he doesn’t do anything, similar to Montoya and Douglas.”
“If we can sell him great, for €8 million – €10 million it would be perfect.”
“He doesn’t know how to defend, nor does he know how to cross the ball – he just offers wonder goals and not much else and that’s the problem.”
“Without doubt sell him, along with Douglas, Vermaelen, Matthieu and Pedro.”
“He always plays with the handbrake on in order to prevent injuries. He offers us nothing.”
“Douglas has more class than him.”
“€9 million for Adriano, adios and thank you very much.”
“Douglas for me is the better player, therefore we should cash in on him.”
“We have to take advantage of this opportunity, sell him and offer Rafinha and Douglas to go too so that we can finally enjoy having a decent squad.”
