The Magpies suffered a heavy defeat on Saturday, when they went down 5-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.
Sergio Aguero put the Citizens in the lead from the penalty spot after just two minutes, and Samir Nasri doubled the advantage 10 minutes later.
Edin Dzeko ended the game as a contest in the 21st minute, and Spain international midfielder David Silva bagged two goals in quick succession in the opening minutes of the second half.
The defeat saw Newcastle remain winless this month, and Taylor has admitted that the players need to regroup and bounce back.
John Carver’s side are back in Premier League action on Saturday, and the 30-year-old has revealed that the team will hold a meeting today to discuss what went wrong in Manchester.
“We will have a meeting on Monday, discussions about the game and a lot of people standing up and having their say on what went on,” Taylor told Newcastle’s official website.
"That's what we need - to get it out in the open, have a chat about it and then focus on training well and making sure we are fully prepared to face Aston Villa next weekend.”
A meeting is certainly a great idea and will help the Newcastle players in the coming weeks.
The Magpies have shown signs of progress under Carver in recent weeks, but the defeat to City is a big blow.
Losing to City at the Etihad was always on the cards, but not many would have expected Newcastle to collapse the way they did.
It will be interesting to see how the Magpies bounce back on Saturday. Aston Villa are currently second from bottom in the Premier League table and will be fighting hard.
