Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has told Spurs TV that the players showed determination against West Ham United on Sunday.
North London outfit Tottenham came from two goals down to hold the Hammers to a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.
Cheikhou Kouyate put West Ham ahead midway through the first half, and Diafra Sakho doubled the advantage just past the hour mark.
Sam Allardyce’s side appeared to be set for a marvellous away win in the London derby, but Spurs scored twice late on.
Danny Rose halved the deficit with a long-range effort in the 81st minute, and in the sixth minute of injury time England Under-21 international Harry Kane scored the equaliser.
West Ham were arguably the better side on Sunday, but Tottenham showed resilience and a never-say-die attitude, which Bentaleb speaks highly of.
“We've done it a few times this season - we keep going right until the end.” the 20-year-old Algeria international midfielder told Spurs TV. “We showed a good spirit. We made some mistakes but we stayed strong.”
Tottenham’s ability to stage comebacks throughout the season must indeed be lauded. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have won 13 points from the final five minutes of matches - a Premier League high.
Despite not being at their best, the Spurs players did find it in themselves to step up their game in the final minutes of Sunday’s encounter.
