Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Lovren's performance against Southampton

Liverpool Wall

Liverpool defeated Southampton 2-0 on Sunday, but what did Reds fans make of Dejan Lovren's contribution?

Liverpool overcame tough opponents and tricky conditions to win 2-0 against Southampton at St Mary’s on Sunday.

Goals from Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling ensured Brendan Rodgers’ side continued their impressive surge up the Premier League table and at this rate a Champions League spot is well within their grasp.

With Manchester United flattering to deceive at times this season, and the Saints themselves slipping to more defeats against the sides around them than they would like, Liverpool’s 2015 form suggests they could be the ones celebrating come May.

The match saw the return to St Mary’s of a trio who left for Anfield last summer, with Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana starting the game and Rickie Lambert an unused substitute.

Lovren’s time at Liverpool has not gone according to plan and he has recently found himself out of the side, with Rodgers favouring a back-three of Emre Can, Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho. But with the latter unavailable for this match, the Croatia international was recalled.

After the game we took to Twitter to see what fans thought of Lovren’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
