One of Newcastle United's young players has enjoyed his first training session with his loan club.
Back at the start of the month, Newcastle United agreed to loan five of their players to Scottish side Rangers for the rest of the campaign.
Those players were Gael Bigirimana, Haris Vuckic, Remie Streete, Shane Ferguson and Kevin Mbabu, but the latters’ injury meant he had to wait until this week to finally enjoy his first training session with his temporary club.
“Had my first training session this morning,” Mbabu wrote. “Glad to finally be back at training.”
Of the Newcastle players to move to Rangers on transfer deadline day, Vuckic has made the most impact so far, but Mbabu will be hoping he can get chances between now and the end of the campaign.
The 19-year-old Swiss centre-back is highly-rated at St James’ Park but he suffered injuries that have curtailed his progress.
Now finally back out on the training pitch, it is up to him to show both his current manager and the Newcastle hierarchy that he has what it takes – to play for Rangers now and for Newcastle in the future.
