A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur…
Tottenham Hotspur welcome West Ham United to White Hart Lane for today’s early kick-off in the Premier League.
Spurs are currently sixth in the table, three points behind Southampton while West Ham are eighth and have plenty still to play for themselves.
In early team news, the BBC reports that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to recall Harry Kane after the England under-21 international was rested for the Europa League game against Fiorentina last week.
Spurs have no injuries or absences to contend with, which is wonderful at this stage of a tough campaign.
As for West Ham, Winston Reid, Matt Jarvis and James Collins are all back in contention but new signing Nene is not yet ready to feature while Andy Carroll is side-lined.
At first glance the report seems bizarre, given the presence of both Kyle Walker and DeAndre Yedlin at White Hart Lane. But the story goes on to claim that Manchester United’s alleged interest in Walker has reportedly led Tottenham to believe they can move for Clyne to replace the England international.
This is one story to take with a sizeable pinch of salt, even if Clyne’s current contract does expire in the summer of 2016.
