The north London side were outfought, outmuscled and clearly outplayed for the majority of their Premier League clash at White Hart Lane but, as ever, managed to force a late comeback.
The tepid nature of their performance, however, and the disappointing nature of their last two draws (they also drew 1-1 with Fiorentina in the Europa League on Thursday night) may worry Tottenham fans.
Did Mauricio Pochettino get his team all wrong against West Ham? Mousa Dembele, Andros Townsend and Erik Lamela certainly flattered to deceive up front.
But a more regular fixture in the starting line-up also disappointed greatly up against the Hammers. Indeed, right-back Kyle Walker was anonymous going forward - and a frustrating presence at the back.
And there were a few calls for 21-year-old DeAndre Yedlin on Twitter after the game. Tottenham fans would like to see the pacy full-back in action when they can, preferably as the long-term replacement for Walker.
During a flat Spurs display against West Ham, meanwhile, Walker wasn't the only bad egg, so to speak. But his performance certainly deserved due criticism. Here's a selection of what Tottenham fans were saying about the defender on Twitter after the 2-2 draw...
We were shocking today. Townsend, Lamela, Dembele and Walker especially woeful. Best player by a mile was Danny Rose #thfc— Monty (@RealBristolSpur) February 22, 2015
I have to say, it’s about time Poch realised Walker cannot defend. #THFC— Stuart James (@JedLomax) February 22, 2015
Spurs Myths: Townsend is fast. Walker is good. We have a strong squad. #THFC— Anthony (@antplas) February 22, 2015
Has Kyle Walker been given instructions never to cross the ball?!?!— Dave White (@DaveLilyWhite) February 22, 2015
