The 1-0 win against the Championship promotion contenders saw several Leeds heroes rise.
Every single one of Leeds United's players proved themselves against Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon. But none more so than man-of-the-match Marco Silvestri, whose 10-save haul earned the Yorkshire side all three points at the Riverside Stadium.
The shot stopper was lauded by fans after the match for a 'world-class' performance' but uncertainty has reigned over the Italian in recent weeks.
A phenomenal goalkeeper he is but worries surrounding Silvestri's authority in the air have led some to question his place in Neil Redfearn's side. Against Middlesbrough, however, the 23-year-old proved he is the man for the job - even if he still needs to polish his game in some ways.
Sol Bamba's phenomenal display against Boro was nothing new. His arrival at Leeds has heaped pressure on Liam Cooper - and Giuseppe Bellusci's excellent performance on Saturday afternoon has done just the same.
There will still be huge demand for Cooper in terms of suspensions, injuries and fatigue requiring some rotation at centre-back. But so monumental were Bellusci and Bamba as a pairing against Middlesbrough that their places are in no doubt whatsoever.
The 20-year-old's ability is nothing new but what Alex Mowatt did prove against Boro was the fact he can produce consistently - and against the big boys.
Mowatt's winner at Middlesbrough was his sixth goal of the Championship season and his second in a row. His form had dipped before his most recent couple of outings and Saturday's display showed he is starting to maintain a high standard on a more regular basis.
