Marca have highlighted Santi Cazorla's accuracy from 12 yards, as he scored his sixth spot-kick of the season yesterday.
Arsenal picked up a valuable three points away to Crystal Palace yesterday, with Santi Cazorla opening his side’s account in a 2-1 win.
The Spain international slotted home confidently from the penalty spot, with the strike his sixth successful spot-kick of the season.
The former Malaga midfielder’s exploits from 12 yards have not gone unnoticed in his homeland either, with the Spanish media applauding the Arsenal man for his accuracy from the spot.
Marca labelled Cazorla the ‘penalty king’ following his latest success at Selhurst Park and even believe that the playmaker could have Andrew Johnson’s record 11 penalties in sight this season.
More realistically however, Cazorla has the potential opportunity to surpass Thierry Henry’s club record of seven converted spot-kicks in the 2003-04 campaign.
Interestingly, the Spanish midfielder is the Premier League’s top penalty scorer this season and has scored more times from the spot this term than any of the other 19 clubs in the division overall.
Cazorla’s versatility to play in a deeper role has also been a major boost for the Gunners, with the Spaniard continuing to show that he is an important player for Arsene Wenger’s side.
