The exciting left-back is making waves in Spain, but the Los Che boss has stated the defender’s future is at the Mestalla.
Arsenal have been consistently linked with a move for promising Valencia defender Jose Gaya in recent months as the full-back stars at the Mestalla.
Arsene Wenger has a number of Spaniards in his current squad, with the likes of Santi Cazorla, Nacho Monreal, Hector Bellerin and Mikel Arteta in the first-team reckoning.
AS has reported that Gaya has an €18 million release clause in his current contract and that Real Madrid are starting to take an interest in the left-back also.
“All of the players who are in the process of renewing terms are focused on the work we’re doing and are happy here at Valencia,” Nuno told reporters when asked about Gaya, reported in AS.
“They’re putting their body and soul into a project which is growing and requires the help of everyone at the club.”
Gaya featured yesterday in Valencia’s 2-1 win over Cordoba, which gives them a five-point gap in fourth place over nearest rivals Sevilla.
The 19-year-old has started 21 La Liga games for Nuno’s men this season and is following in the footsteps of the likes of fellow left-backs Juan Bernat and Jordi Alba, who also blossomed at Valencia before moving to pastures new.
