Jose Mourinho critical of Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen

The Chelsea boss is not a fan of the Belgian defender.

It has been a rather busy weekend for Jose Mourinho, who was left perturbed by the refereeing performance of Martin Atkinson on Saturday. He sent off Nemanja Matic for pushing over Ashley Barnes after the Burnley striker had nailed the Serbian with a reckless and dangerous challenge.

The referee also managed to miss two blatant penalties as Burnley came back from 1-0 down to earn a point at Stamford Bridge.

Today Mourinho made a special guest appearance on Sky Sports Goals On Sunday to complain about the refereeing decisions against his team recently and also the media perception of his team, in particular Sky.

He also seemed to slam Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen.

He was asked about Vertonghen and Federico Fazio ahead of the League Cup final between Chelsea and Spurs. He said, as reported by Belgian media outlet Het Nieuwsblad:

"Mourinho likes to get cards for other teams. Fazio, does not."

Of course he may have been referring to the time Vertonghen went down fairly dramatically from an altercation with Chelsea striker Fernando Torres in November 2013. At that time he labelled the Belgian 'a cheat' and was clearly furious with the defender.

So it would have incensed him to see Vertonghen give Mark Noble a Matic like push this afternoon, and receive zero punishment.

An agenda against Chelsea? You decide.
