Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has hailed Liverpool's impressive 2-0 win over Southampton but admitted they rode their luck.
The Saints had three penalty appeals, with the pundit suggesting he felt they should have had one of them. He also picked out two Liverpool players he felt were key to them pulling off a crucial result in the battle for a top four place.
Great result for Lfc today but thought Southampton were the better team. Ibe & Skrtel excellent. Soton should have had 1 pen.— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) February 22, 2015
Skrtel's performance in defence was a continuation of the superb form he has shown throughout 2015, dominant in the air and putting his body on the line.
The Slovakian won twice as many aerial duels as Dejan Lovren, while the summer signing did not make a single block.

The second player picked out by Carragher was teenager Jordon Ibe, who has not put a foot wrong since coming into the side after he was recalled from his loan at Championship side Derby County.
Statistically it was not a particularly eye-catching display from the teenager, who didn't create a single chance and made only five passes in the final third.

This was not a game however in which Liverpool enjoyed a lot of the ball, limited to just 39 per cent of possession by a confident Southampton side.
Instead it was Ibe's chance to show he could play a role in a team being asked to stand firm and not be caught out from a tactical point of view, and in this regard it was a test in which he passed with flying colours.
