The Liverpool captain is on his way out of the club in the summer.
Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months you will know that Liverpool captain and legend Steven Gerrard is leaving the club in the summer. The one club man is off to join LA Galaxy for the advent of his career.
But before he heads off to California for the life of riley the Liverpool fans, staff and all those involved, want to say a proper goodbye.
With that in mind there will be a farewell Gerrard match at Anfield on March 29th, during the international break.
Gerrard's Liverpool will take on a Gerrard XI, selected by the player. The team will be made up of former Liverpool players that Gerrard has played with and he has selected some big names.
According to a report in Diario AS one of those players is now confirmed. Fernando Torres is currently at Atletico Madrid but had an excellent time at Liverpool earlier in his career. He left the club in 2011 for Chelsea.
He is not the only big name invited. Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano have both been invited as have Bayern Munich duo Pepe Reina and Xabi Alonso.
Of course club and international commitments might just limit those who feature in the game. But it is already shaping up to be a great send off for Liverpool's captain fantastic.
