Confirmed: Southampton v Liverpool lineups

Here is how Southampton and Liverpool will line up for this afternoon’s match:

Southampton welcome Liverpool to St Mary’s today for a vital Premier League encounter for both sides.

The Saints will have seen Manchester United lose to Swansea City on Saturday and know they can now take advantage; but Liverpool have aspirations of a top-four finish themselves, and a victory this afternoon will help them no end.

Southampton have lost just once in their last nine league meetings they have a squad to rival most in the division, with manager Ronald Koeman instilling belief in a side many felt would struggle this season.

They have done anything but, and after seeing three of their former stars head to Anfield last summer, those who remained may want to beat Liverpool for more than just the three points.

That said, Liverpool are undefeated in their last nine league games and they have suffered just one defeat in their last 17 matches in all competitions.

In short, this game is too close to call but it should be a great watch…
