Arsenal star Jack Wilshere took to social networking site Instagram to share his delight with the Gunners supporters at recovering from injury and being available for first-team duties.
The 23-year-old midfielder suffered an ankle ligament injury during the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at the end of November following a heavy tackle from United’s Paddy McNair.
As a result, he missed his side’s subsequent 19 matches in all competitions and underwent rehabilitation in order to recover in time for the season’s so-called business end.
However, after almost three months of watching his teammates from the stands, boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed Wilshere’s return though he hasn’t made any promises on a potential start against Palace.
“I cannot tell you whether Jack Wilshere will start. I’ve not picked the team definitely. It’s difficult to come back immediately,” Wenger told the club’s official website.
Despite no guarantees of getting game-time this weekend, the England international isn’t going to let that put a damper on his mood as he takes to Instagram in order to share his enthusiasm at returning.
“Think it’s fair to say I’m happy to be back,” he wrote while publishing a picture of himself struggling to contain his big grin in Arsenal training.
With plenty of the season still left to play and the Gunners still going strong in two cup competitions, Wilshere’s return will be a big boost and provide Wenger with further strength in depth in midfield.
