Manchester City were back to their imperious best in Saturday’s late kick-off, beating Newcastle United 5-0 at the Eithad.
The result put them within five points of Premier League leaders Chelsea, who had earlier drawn with Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
Several of the City players were in fine form during the game, but it was arguably the performance of midfield magician David Silva that caught the eye as he scored twice and set up to two others.
|Position||Team||Goals||Total Att Assist||Successful Final Third Passes||Accurate Pass||Fwd Pass||Won Contest||Appearances||Mins Played|

As already mentioned, the Spaniard managed to get on the scoresheet twice for the champions against Newcastle, while he also had two attacking assists to his name as well.
Known for his passing ability, the midfielder has become a key player for City over the years, laying on countless goals for forwards such as Sergio Aguero with his jinking runs and eye for a pass.
He was in similar form with his passing on Saturday as well, making 45 accurate passes throughout the game; 17 of those being successful passes in the final third to get his side on the attack. He was also key to pushing his side forward as well, making 14 forward passes throughout the game.
A comfortable and huge victory for Manchester City then, who once again have star man David Silva for leading them to a victory which has opened up the Premier League title race once again.
