According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United are considering a move to sign Argentine international midfielder Lucas Biglia.
United splashed out last summer on three midfielders, bringing Daley Blind, Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria to the club, but it seems that manager Louis van Gaal still isn't happy with his midfield options.
Instead, The Mirror believe that United are looking to add the much cheaper Biglia to their squad this summer, with a bid of £8m in the pipeline.
The 29-year-old plays for Argentina, making 27 caps for his nation alongside current United stars Di Maria and Marcos Rojo, so wouldn't be short of familiar faces at Old Trafford.
After making over 300 appearances for Anderlecht, Biglia joined Lazio in 2013, and has made 17 appearances for the Italians this season, adding one goal and one assist to his name.
Predominantly a holding midfielder with great passing ability, Biglia wouldn't be the world class midfielder that United fans crave, and would largely serve the same purpose as Blind does in the current United midfield.
Pursuing him this summer would be a strange one, but if van Gaal wants to bring in an experienced midfielder, then Biglia could well be on his radar.
