Liverpool wonderkid Sheyi Ojo reacts on Twitter to man-of-the-match display for Wigan

The 17-year-old was voted his side's best player during their 3-0 defeat at Charlton.

Sheyi Ojo is making waves at Wigan Athletic.

The Liverpool loanee has already registered an assist for the Championship side and was last night voted Wigan's man of the match during their 3-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic.

The result was far from ideal for the 17-year-old but his performance provided a rare glimpse of joy for a Latics side currently struggling for form.

After the game, meanwhile, Ojo took to Twitter to celebrate his award.

The Liverpool loanee has made a terrific impact for the Under-21s at Anfield this season but his move to Wigan is his first real venture into the senior game.

So far, so good for the teenager, however, and the Reds look like they could have another Raheem Sterling or Jordon Ibe on their hands.

Liverpool travel to Southampton on Sunday afternoon but Ojo can rest up - or train - knowing he's already done his job for Wigan this weekend.

As for the rest of Malky Mackay's side, the Latics are six points off Championship safety and, along with 17-year-old Ojo's trickery, Wigan also need goals from somewhere...
