Joleon Lescott thanked supporters on Twitter after West Brom's 0-0 draw at Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
The centre-back could have been sent off during a controversial early incident at the Stadium of Light but remained on-field as both sides played out a goalless stalemate.
Lescott thanked the traveling West Brom fans for their support and also gave his verdict on the draw.
Indeed, the 32-year-old feels the result was a fair one, although some Sunderland fans who felt he should have been sent off might disagree...
Overall I think the result was a far one today. Great support again #TravelSafe— Joleon Lescott (@JoleonLescott) February 21, 2015
The 0-0 draw was in stark contrast to West Brom's last match - a 4-0 win over West Ham United in the FA Cup - although Sunderland will surely welcome the point after recent defeats.
Great result today from the lads have a safe journey home fans thanks for the support #boingboing— Craig Gardner (@CraigGards8) February 21, 2015
Scrappy game but another clean sheet and a point will do nicely, safe trip back home baggies— Ben Foster (@BenFoster) February 21, 2015
The result leaves West Brom 14th in the Premier League, five points clear of the drop zone. Sunderland sit two places further down but are only two points behind the Baggies.
Up next for Lescott and co are Southampton, who visit the Hawthorns next Saturday. The Black Cats, meanwhile, travel to Manchester United the very same afternoon.
