Confirmed: Manchester City v Newcastle United line-ups

Man City Etihad

Here is how Manchester City and Newcastle United will line up for this evening's Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City starting XI: Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Mangala, Kolarov; Nasri, Fernandinho, Toure, Silva; Dzeko, Aguero

Manchester City subs: Caballero, Demichelis, Clichy, Lampard, Fernando, Navas, Bony.

Newcastle United starting XI: Krul; Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, Haïdara; Sissoko, Anita, Colback; Pérez, Cissé, Gouffran.

Newcastle United subs: Woodman, R.Taylor, Abeid, Obertan, Ameobi, Armstrong, Rivière.

Manchester City will look to keep their title hopes alive this evening when they host Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium.

City won their last game against Stoke City, but before that victory they had gone four games without a win as Chelsea opened up a gap at the top of the Premier League table.

Today, manager Manuel Pellegrini has resisted temptation to hand a debut to new signing Wilfried Bony, but his Ivorian international team mate Yaya Toure returns to the starting line-up after winning the Africa Cup of Nations.

Newcastle have won just two of their last ten games, and have a poor record against City in recent seasons - leaving manager John Carver with a tough task tonight.

He has though gone with three attackers in Ayoze Perez, Papiss Cisse and Yoann Gouffran, as they will surely look to play on the break in a bid to catch City out.
