Arsene Wenger has confirmed that former striker Thierry Henry has already got stuck into a coaching role at the club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed at his press conference ahead of the game against Crystal Palace that club legend, Thierry Henry, has already been coaching the younger players at the Emirates.

Henry recently announced his retirement from the game, signing a multi-million pound deal with Sky Sports to become a pundit, as reported by the Daily Telegraph.

Henry is in the process of completing his coaching badges with the Gunners and appears to already be having an influence over some of the teams in the club’s academy system.

“Thierry Henry is making his first steps as a coach. It's good for our youngsters to be coached by him. He's been here once or twice,” said Wenger.

“All our former players are welcome to come back here and get their coaching badges. We're happy to have him.”

Henry’s status as an Arsenal legend means that when he talks and offers advice to the younger players at the club, they will listen.

From the club’s point of view, it’s a no-brainer because he holds that status and has been proven to be one of the most prolific players in the history of the Premier League.

From Henry’s point of view it’s a no-brainer because it’s something which allows him to give something back to the club that backed him for so long and helps him along his way to becoming a more experienced coach.

Even if the youngsters only take a more determined mentality into their next game after a session from Henry, it’s proof he’s already having an impact.
