Guillem Balague: Swansea made €7m for Santiago Arias, Everton also keen

Both Premier League clubs are said to be keen on the PSV Eindhoven star.

The Colombian national football team have become one of the hotbeds of talent in recent years. The likes of James Rodriguez, Juan Cuadrado and David Ospina have all impressed for the country in recent times.

They are not alone. Talented right-back Santiago Arias has been winning rave reviews for his performances at PSV Eindhoven at the moment and also has 14 caps for his country.

Now, it looks like Premier League clubs will be hunting him in the not so distant future.

According to Sky Sports' Guillem Balague Swansea City have already made a bid for him and Everton are also in the race for the player.

He Tweeted earlier today:

It would certainly be an interesting approach from both clubs.

Swansea City recently signed Kyle Naughton but are perhaps short in the full-back department. His signing would certainly not be a bad move from the Welsh club.

Everton on the other hand have Seamus Coleman at right-back, one of their star players. However, when the Irishman has been injured, they have struggled. Tony Hibbert is getting no younger and a suitable back-up, not that Arias will want to fill that role, would certainly be wise.

Balague says an auction is about to commence for the player and both Swansea and Everton would do well to be bidding.
