The young Frenchman has enjoyed a breakthrough season at the Emirates, having spent an early part of the campaign on loan with Championship side Charlton.
Since returning from his loan spell, the defensive midfielder has become a key member of the first-team squad, and has seemingly fixed the long standing problems in the Gunners ranks concerning the midfield position. He has made 10 appearances since his return to the Premier League, and if the 23-year-old’s development continues at such an impressive rate, he may end up saving the club a large sum of money in the transfer market.
After enjoying his time this term with the Gunners, Coquelin was invited to hold a question and answer session with fans on Arsenal’s official Twitter account. Pressed on a number of subjects including his teammates and playing style, the former French youth international was also asked who his favourite ever Arsenal player is - and he gave an answer that will please every Gunners fan out there.

Thierry Henry is generally considered as one of Arsenal’s greatest ever players, and one of the all-time greats in the Premier League. Although not playing in the same position as Coquelin - one may have expected him to name Patrick Vieira - Henry’s goalscoring feats and stylish play have never been matched in the English top flight, as well as being a hero in Coquelin’s nation of France.
Although playing in different position to Henry, if Coquelin can have half the impact the forward had during his era-defininig spell with the Gunners, there is on doubt he will become a success with Arsenal.
