Photo: Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge takes a hit to 'delicate' area in training

Emre Can was first on the scene after a nasty incident for Daniel Sturridge, but he is absolutely fine for the Besiktas game this evening.

Liverpool have had it tough at times this season, especially in the striking department. The club lost Luis Suarez this summer, after the problematic Uruguayan joined Barcelona after a, let's say, eventful World Cup.

The players brought in to replace his goals have failed to produce the goods. Rickie Lambert has struggled since his arrival from Southampton while Mario Balotelli only scored his first Premier League goal for the club last week - not ideal.

On top of that Daniel Sturridge has had a torrid time with injuries.

He has suffered several muscular injuries in his leg since September, which have kept him out of action for five months.

In that time he has been to America and back in order to fix his problem so the severity of the issue is undoubted. He now looks back to fitness and that is a massive boost for Liverpool fans - which is why this photo will alarm them.

That is Sturridge, in agony, being consoled by Liverpool team-mate Emre Can and to the unknowing eye would be viewed as very bad news for Liverpool fans.

Fortunately, the only thing it is bad news for, is Sturridge's chances of children. He was grounded by a stray ball, no pun intended, to his gentleman's region in training which is the reason he was on the floor in pain.

Other than that he is in tip-top shape and raring to go.
