Manchester United media round-up: Reported target Howedes admits he wants England move

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester United.

German defender Benedikt Howedes has been quoted by the Daily Mirror suggesting it’s his goal to play in England.

Manchester United have been mentioned as one of the sides reportedly interested in him, along with North London club Arsenal.

“If I am to leave Schalke one day, I do not want to move clubs within the Bundesliga – England would be my goal,” he said.

United could make a move this summer having failed to bring in a defender during the January transfer window.

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has been quoted by the Sport Review explaining why he took his family on a tour of Old Trafford.

Rojo showed close family members around the stadium, having moved to United from Sporting Lisbon last summer.

“Old Trafford is a stadium which is very important in the history of the game and to get the chance to have a look around and get to know it was really very good and something to remember,” he said.

The defender has shown experience and versatility during his time at the club so far, offering cover in central defence and at left-back.

The Metro has reported that Manchester United have started talks to sign Kyle Walker from Tottenham at the end of the season.

United reportedly see the England international as the man to come in and add balance across their back four.

The paper states that Walker currently has four years left to run on his deal with the club.
