Liverpool wonderkid Sheyi Ojo tweets delight at assist on first start

Liverpool youngster Sheji Ojo provided an assist on his first ever start for Wigan Athletic.

Sheyi Ojo played a key role in helping Wigan beat Reading on Wednesday night, securing a vital result for the club.

The 17-year-old was making his first ever competitive start at professional level, and set up fellow new signing Jason Pearce to score the winner.

After the victory Ojo took to Twitter to express his satisfaction at helping Wigan get the three points they desperately needed.

Wigan were deep in the Championship relegation zone before the game at the Madejski, but moved to within six points of safety rather than nine as a result of the 1-0 win.

Ojo signed on loan until the end of the season during the winter transfer window, and is a winger upon who there are big expectations due to his significant early progress, highlighted by his game-changing assists for the Latics.

This season he had scored four goals in 11 goals for Liverpool's youth teams, with two assists.

Ojo played 72 minutes in the win over Reading, completed 88 per cent of his passes, with each of his two crosses finding a teammate.
