Chelsea media round-up: Terry waiting on contact over new contract

Terry, Ivanovic, Luis - Chelsea

A round up of news stories this morning related to Chelsea.

John Terry has told Get West London that he’s hoping for a resolution over his new contract soon.

The experienced defender wants to sign a new contract with the club, but there has been no offer as of yet from the Blues.

“No talks have happened yet between myself and the club. I think we both respect the position - there are a lot more important players,” said Terry.

Terry’s current contract expires at the end of this season.

Terry has also claimed in the Daily Express, that Chelsea have the two best goalkeepers in the world.

Thibaut Courtois was installed as the club’s number one earlier this season and is backed up by the experienced and proven Petr Cech.

“We've got the two best goalkeepers in the world - both fighting for one place. It's difficult. You can't keep them both happy,” said the captain.

Whether Cech chooses to move on this summer so he can play regularly elsewhere remains to be seen.

The Daily Mirror has reported that the fans caught on video on the Paris Metro could be jailed for three years and banned from football games for life.

Shocking scenes were caught on camera when a small group of individuals sang ‘we’re racist and that’s the way we like it’ as a Paris Metro train waited at a station.
