The Arsenal loanee has extra motivation to beat Spurs on Sunday.

Arsenal loanee Carl Jenkinson wants to knock Tottenham Hotspur off their 'perch' on Sunday, according to West Ham's official website.

West Ham United travel to Spurs at the weekend knowing they have to get their season back on track sooner or later.

An in-form London rival will stand in their way, however, with Mauricio Pochettino's side in good spirits amid recent results this season.

But Jenkinson is out to stop Tottenham and needs to look little further than Arsenal's north London derby defeat to Spurs.

Harry Kane scored twice to condemn the Gunners at White Hart Lane and Jenkinson, on loan from Arsenal, wants to put a stop to Spurs' good form.

"Yeah, they're doing alright, aren't they?" the West Ham full-back said.

"They've always had some good players and they've been doing well lately. It's important we knock them off their perch a little bit and that's the mentality we need to bring into the game. We're a great side as well and play to our strengths. If we do that, we have a great chance of getting a good result."

Tottenham lost their last Premier League game at Liverpool but put up a good fight at Anfield, while they face Fiorentina in the Europa League on Thursday night.

West Ham, though, have struggled of late and were humiliated at West Brom in the FA Cup last weekend. Whether Jenkinson's determination will be enough to stop Pochettino's men remains to be seen. But there will no doubt be a few Arsenal fans cheering him on.
