MK Dons managed to snatch a hard-fought 1-0 win over Colchester United on Tuesday night, with the three points taking them up into second place in the League One table.
Dele Alli's first half goal proved to the winner for the Dons, who are gunning for promotion to the Championship this season under Karl Robinson.
Alli's 14th goal illustrated just why Tottenham were so keen to sign him to a five-and-a-half year contract on deadline day before loaning him back to Milton Keynes for the rest of the season before joining up with Spurs in the summer.
However, Alli was taken off after 64 minutes through injury, and fans were naturally worried about his status ahead of this weekend's derby match against Peteborough United.
Their fears have been put to bed though, with manager Robinson telling the club's official website that he should be fit for Saturday's game.
"Yeah he got a few kicks, but it's something he's used to - he gets a number of kicks on a consistent basis anyway. Hopefully he will be fit for the derby on Saturday," said Robinson.
18-year-old Alli is one of the finest young players in the Football League, and his exceptional talent unsurprisingly attracts plenty of interest from opposing defenders.
Having earned a move to the Premier League, he can expect plenty more kicks and fouls coming his way - but they don't seem like being able to stop him any time soon.
