Manchester City player David Silva shows off gift from boxing legend Ricky Hatton

Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton is a massive Manchester City fan.

Manchester City certainly have their fair share of famous fans. From the Gallagher brothers to Andrew Flintoff, to Alan Rickman and Johnny Marr - they are a well supported team in the world of celebrity.

Another well known fan is boxer Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton. The former 36-year-old is a former Light Welterweight and Welterweight champion of the world and 2005 The Ring magazine fighter of the year.

He is a massive city fan and even fought at what was then known as The City of Manchester Stadium.

He is such a fan, he is happy to give the players gifts - as he did with Sapnish playmaker David Silva.

Silva is regarded as one of City's best players. His guile, agility and vision make him one of the more enigmatic and mercurial players in the team.

Hatton clearly wanted to highlight his appreciation for the player. Silva has posted a picture on Twitter of a thoughtful gift from the retired boxing champion.

City fans will be hoping that Silva continues to pack a punch as they push on toward a Premier League title race.
