Photos: Gestede's late strike denies old club Cardiff victory

Two late strikes mean that the spoils were shared between Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers in the Welsh capital.

It took a while for the first goal to come at the Cardiff City stadium but another soon followed as the spoils were shared in the Welsh capital.

The Bluebirds struck in the 84th minute courtesy of Sean Morrison's header from a Peter Whittingham corner. The home side were denied the win by a side on a high after their weekend exploits in the FA Cup where they thrashed Stoke City. A late equaliser courtesy of Rudy Gestede's strike levelled the game up for the visitors after Josh King was denied by an Aron Gunnarsson clearance of the line. The result leaves Russell Slade's side without a victory in seven games.

Blackburn remain in ninth place but a fairly distant 10 points off the play-off places but their manager Gary Bowyer was happy to take a point late on in the game, while Cardiff moved into 15th place, climbing above Bolton Wanderers and Reading, though Cardiff boss Slade will have been left frustrated that his side couldn't hang on.

Here's a selection of images from last night's encounter:
