In Pictures: Advantage Chelsea after crucial away goal

A 1-1 draw in the Parc de Princes leaves the tie nicely poised ahead of the return leg at Stamford Bridge.

It's advantage Chelsea after the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Paris Saint Germain finished 1-1 at the Parc de Princes.

Branislav Ivanovic opened the scoring in the first half with a fine header, only for Edinson Cavani to level the game up with a header of his own in the second half.

Jose Mourinho's side - who had a bit of trouble getting into the ground properly with their team bus - had Thibaut Courtois to thank for a string of fine saves so they can take that away goal advantage back to Stamford Bridge in three weeks' time.

It leaves the Premier League leaders in a healthier position than when they met at the quarter-final stage of last season's competition with the Ligue 1 champions leading 3-1, but that didn't prove to be enough as Chelsea won the return leg 2-0, progressing on away goals.

Some of the great and the good of both football and France were in attendance last night for one of the more eye-catching ties of the second round of this season's competition.
