Confirmed: Birmingham City v Middlesbrough lineups

Here are the teams as Birmingham City host Middlesbrough in the Championship this evening.

Birmingham City will move above Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday on the Championship table if they can get the better of Middlesbrough this evening. Gary Rowett will stress the need for his side to react positively and put on a show for home supporters after they were beaten by Millwall in their last game. The problem for Birmingham this season appears to have been their defence, with the side currently on a goal difference of minus nine, which the boss will want to be improved over the next few weeks.

Middlesbrough’s incentive for beating Birmingham is simple; win and the team moves into the outright lead at the top of the Championship, with a three point advantage. Aitor Karanka will want his side to maintain the positive form they have been showing in the league and he’ll want a reaction from his team after defeat in the FA Cup at the hands of Arsenal last weekend. The boss suggested his team suffered from overconfidence in that game against the Gunners so they should be fully switched on and alert throughout this game.
