How Chelsea's Twitter-based fans reacted to Gary Cahill's showing in Tuesday night's 1-1 Champions League draw at Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea withstood a second-half onslaught from Paris St-Germain to claim a 1-1 draw in the first-leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Parc des Princes.

Defender Branislav Ivanovic headed Jose Mourinho's team in front after 36 minutes following Gary Cahill's neat flick from a John Terry cross, before Edinson Cavani popped up nine minutes after the restart to level the match.

The Ligue 1 outfit proceeded to dominate the rest of the second half, with Thibaut Courtois forced to make several huge saves, but Cavani prodded a late chance wide to ensure Chelsea go into next month’s second-leg at Stamford Bridge with a slight advantage thanks to the away goal.

Nevertheless, despite an acceptable result, fans were left to question a few of Mourinho’s tactical decisions on the night, including the move to start Cahill over the emerging Kurt Zouma.

Aside from grabbing the assist for the opener, the England international looked decidedly anxious over the course of the 90 minutes, and was also at fault for Cavani’s headed equaliser after failing to track his run.

Suffering from a distinct lack of form in recent weeks, the former Aston Villa centre-back has seen Zouma start ahead of him in recent Premier League clashes against Manchester City and Everton, as well as the Capital One Cup win over Liverpool, when his performances have been more than impressive.

With a sizeable number of fans since calling for the 20-year-old to be made the permanent starter over his elder teammate, that sentiment was clear for all to see on Twitter following the PSG match.
