Ronny Deila has provided a fresh injury update on the experienced Bhoys midfielder.
The Norwegian coach has revealed that the Celtic star trained with the squad on Wednesday afternoon but that the club are still undecided as to whether he'll be fit enough to face the Serie A side.
Deila is hopeful the 31-year-old can feature against Roberto Mancini's men but the Celtic coach's hint suggests he is more likely to leave Commons out than play him.
Indeed, during a pre-match press conference, Deila said:
RD: "Commons trained today but we're not sure if he'll be fit for tomorrow. If it's a gamble it's not worth it."— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) February 18, 2015
Meanwhile, the Bhoys boss has also been discussing his side's recent fortunes ahead of the Inter game.
The Italians are likely to provide Celtic with their biggest test of the season so far but Deila's men have won their last eight games.
And the Norwegian admits his side were a shadow of what they are now at the start of the campaign. Four players, in particular, he was able to name as big improvements over the course of the season: skipper Scott Brown, midfielder Nir Bitton, defender Virgil van Dijk and Stefan Johansen.
RD: "Broony, Nir, Stefan, Virgil, all these individuals have improved. We are a totally different team from that time (Champions League)"— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) February 18, 2015
