Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani scored an important goal for PSG last night to keep the French side very much in with a shout of beating Chelsea in the Champions League.
The Blues netted an away goal through Branislav Ivanovic but it is all to play for in the second leg, with Laurent Blanc's expensively assembled side packed with the talent to pull off a win at Stamford Bridge.
Cavani's strike was his 15th in 23 Champions League games, illustrating his potency at the very top level. His goal against Chelsea did not go unnoticed by supporters of rivals Arsenal, who took to twitter in response to express their dreams of seeing him lead the line for the Gunners next season.
This had been in part fed by a suspect report in The Metro 24 hours earlier which claimed PSG would strongly consider an offer of £50 million from Arsenal. Whether there is any validity in this specific claim is questionable, but from a footballing perspective Cavani would be an excellent addition.
He has scored 17 goals in 29 games this season for PSG, a record which looks even more impressive when taking into account the fact he is often played out of position out wide in order to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
With the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott in attack alongside him, Cavani would be a explosive addition to the Arsenal front line if Arsenal were able to pull off a deal.
Wages would be a big sticking point for any Arsenal deal, but Arsenal have shown a willingness to pay big for players like Ozil and Sanchez in recent seasons and shelling out on a top name striker cannot be ruled out.
Here's a look at how fans reacted to seeing him strike against Chelsea...
