Newcastle United should make a bid to sign Lasse Schone this summer, with the winger's contract at Ajax due to expire.
Schone has just five months remaining on his deal with the Dutch giants and Newcastle should take advantage of this and convince him to move to England.
The Magpies favour bargain buys over lavish purchases and Schone certainly fits into that category, considering he will be available without expense.
Quick, skilful and direct, he has all the credentials to be a major success at Newcastle and he would complement the squad well.
Newcastle have been on the look-out for a winger for some time and Schone looks to have the quality to push them on to the next level.
The Danish international has six goals and seven assists in 21 Eredivisie matches this season, whilst his one-in-two scoring record in the Champions League proves that he is capable of performing at the highest level.
His arrival would provide their strikers with much better service and it should help them increase their attacking threat considerably.
The North East outfit have struggled in wide areas this season. Sammy Ameobi, Gabriel Obertan, Ayoze Perez, Rolando Aarons and Remy Cabella have all been utilised on left and right flanks throughout the campaign but they have struggled to find the consistency needed to keep themselves in the starting line-up.
It means that the addition of a winger is likely to be made a priority in the summer and few look better fits than Schone.
Newcastle have shown they are prepared to shop in Holland in recent times - with Siem De Jong, Vurnon Anita and Daryl Janmaat all arriving from the Eredivisie - and Schone should be the next man on their wishlist from that division.
