A new take on Terraria has been teased in an announcement and new trailer.

Terraria: Otherworld is a new game in the Terraria universe from developers Re-Logic and Engine Software. But, it's "not Terraria 2," say the developers in a forum post announcing the game.

Otherworld expands on the original Terraria, being set in an alternate dimension tasking players with restoring a 'once-pristine world' that has been taken over by a 'malevolent force that has corrupted nature itself.'

Terraria: Otherworld is being developed for PC and Mac, and the devs are considering PS4 and Xbox One versions. The developers are also attending GDC next month, so we expect more details to be revealed then.

If you're unfamiliar with Terraria, I'd say it's like a 2D Minecraft, basically. There are a ton of items to craft and monsters to fight, and I've spent countless hours playing it. It's a lot of fun.

Take a look at the Terraria: Otherworld teaser trailer below.
