Report: Chelsea star Cuadrado desperate to visit White Hart Lane for Tottenham game this week

Chelsea new boy Juan Cuadrado is reported to be desperate to go and watch former side Fiorentina in action against Tottenham Hotspur.

New Chelsea signing Juan Cuadrado is reportedly desperate to get the chance to watch his former team in action against Tottenham Hotspur this week.

Fiorentina take on Spurs at White Hart Lane in the first leg of the Europa League knockout stages on Thursday, giving the Colombian a chance to meet up with his old teammates while they are in the city.

Italian website Tuttomercatoweb report Cuadrado plans to catch up with the Fiorentina team while in London, but really wants the chance to go to the game.

The report states: "Juan Cuadrado will do anything to be this Thursday night at White Hart Lane to watch the game Fiorentina against Tottenham. The Colombian, who will be busy tomorrow night in the quarter finals of the Champions League with Chelsea in Paris against PSG, will return to London on Wednesday morning and on Thursday - depending on his commitments - could go to greet his former comrades or accommodated in the hotel where Fiorentina or go directly to the stadium."

Whether Cuadrado manages to make an appearance at the stadium is another matter, and while Tottenham fans will have no specific problem with him, the fact he is a Chelsea player will make him automatically unwelcome. It would be far better for him to catch up with his old pals at their hotel, rather than make the trip to North London for the match.

The sight of him at the Lane would be notable - and as a new face he may get away with it. He won't be haunted like previous Blues players by the 5-3 thrashing they sustained in early January at the stadium. There may even be Chelsea representatives going already, to scout Tottenham ahead of the Capital One Cup final. Just don't expect him to bring John Terry along with him for a night out.
