Tottenham player in waiting Dele Alli scored the winner for MK Dons last night to send them into second in the League One table.
From the Dons point of view it has been an inspired piece of business holding onto him, as he has continued his impressive form unfazed by his big move.
Good to get back to winning ways tonight! Happy to get my 14th of the season— dele alli (@dele_alli36) February 17, 2015
He scored the winner against Colchester United at the end of the first half, although the only sour note was the fact he had to go off with a knock midway through the second.
Alli is still just 18, and didn't focus on that after the win, tweeting his delight at scoring his 14th goal in 31 League One games.
He is the top scorer from midfield in the division, with his goals a key part of Karl Robinson's side's promotion chase. They sit behind Bristol City, but have played a game more than the sides immediately below them in third and fourth.
It looks set to be a battle which will go to the wire, which will be a useful experience for Alli ahead of moving to Spurs, who year after year find themselves locked into a scrap for positions near the top of the table for European spots.
