A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester City.
The Argentine is being linked with a move to City’s sister club in the MLS; New York City.
He’s one of the most experienced members of Manuel Pellegrini’s first team squad and would join the likes of Frank Lampard and David Villa at the American team.
Frank Lampard has told the Daily Mirror he feels Manchester City’s title challenge will be revitalised by two players.
City are chasing a seven point gap from league leaders Chelsea and Lampard feels the return of two players after the African Cup of Nations is important.
“Alongside Yaya coming back, we’ve got Bony arriving. We’ve seen what he’s been doing at Swansea and he’ll be a fantastic signing,” said Lampard.
Both players enjoyed victorious campaigns with the Ivory Coast.
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has revealed in a question and answer session for the Daily Mirror that he feels Manchester City will beat Barcelona.
City take on Barca in the first knock out round of the European competition.
“I think City can beat them but big players like Toure and Aguero need to perform and they need to defend well,” said Scholes.
City and Barca is a difficult tie to call and City will also be boosted by having Wilfried Bony available in their Champions League squad.
