Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela has told the club’s website he feels there is more to come from the team.
Spurs are well placed for a top four place, in a League Cup final against Chelsea and resume their Europa League challenge this week against Fiorentina.
The Argentine is excited by the prospects of the team across all competitions and has sent out a warning to the club’s rivals, singling out key striker Harry Kane for praise.
“I think we are still improving. I am happy for Harry because he works a lot in training and he deserves the praise he has got, but he needs to continue,” said Lamela.
“We all need to continue our good performances now. We are a young team and we still have room to get better.”
There are several challenges that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino faces over the rest of the campaign, which are going to challenge his young looking side.
The different formats will cause Pochettino to rotate his squad because Harry Kane can’t play in every single game.
Roberto Soldado could come into the team or Emmanuel Adebayor could take a place in Tottenham’s attack.
Whoever comes in is under pressure to perform effectively and have a similar sort of impact on the front of the team to the one Kane has been having.
The defence is also going to be under pressure this week and for the rest of the season.
The 3-2 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield showed there are signs the Tottenham defence can crack under pressure.
They have a challenge to keep clean sheets away from home and in front of their own fans, as that can help to take a little pressure away from the attack.
There are tweaks Pochettino can make to ensure Tottenham are a much more difficult side to get the better of.
